After surveillance footage captures James Savage abducting his girlfriend, police race to find them both.
But what begins as a kidnapping investigation soon exposes a man who has been concealing his true identity for nearly forty years.
This is 54 year old James Savage, police ar tracking him after seeing footage of him kidnapping his girlfriend, Marrivel Dunn,60 year old Marrivel Dunn.
But when the sheriff’s office starts investigating, they find this isn’t just another case of domestic violence.Savage isn’t who he claims to be, and he has weaved a web of lies for over 40 years.
And those lies build into an intense standoff that has the police on edge.
After receiving a 911 call from Dunn’s friend and seing the footage of Savage abduting the women , officers Warren , Helsinki, Mingus , and Jones travel to Bellhaven Loop ,where they believe Savagfe lives.
After checking his house, the policefind neither Savage nor his vehicle.
The officers start asking neighbors for more information.
Julie Spoerl, the suspect’s ex – girlfriend and Savage were arrested for defrauding and rcploiting an older out of less than $ 10,000 in 2020.
Deputy Hlesinki gets in touch with Spearl directly,she says the two live together after a 5 year relationship, and as the neighbor says, Spoerl issued an injunction against Savage to keep him a mile away from her residence.
Because his violent behavior scared her.
The reason for the breakup, catches Deputy helsinky’s attention .
Spoerl says that while she and Savage were on a cruise together,Savage started flirting with an older women by the name of Lorraine Heroux
After they broke up Spoerl says Savage moved in with ms Heroux,
Helsinki relays the information to the others who leave a calling card at Heroux’s residence.
Then they start asking the neigbors about her involvement.
This is when the officers start to realize something about the suspect.
All of his acwuaintances and those who associate with him seem to be older women,first Spoerl, then Heroux,now Dunn,and the man has a track record of dating women significantly older than him .
but what is a hotshot businessman like Savage doing dating women with such an age gap? and why a few at any given time?
This is the first twist in the suspect’s story.
James Savage isn’t who he claims to be,when he meets people in person the suspect is known to put on a mafia man -like facade.
A smooth- talking successful businessman who offers investment opportunities into wild knew schemes.
He drives luxury cars, flies around the world, selling rar gems and coins to the highest bidder, James Savage is a con man .
And the more the police uncover about him, the wilder the story becomes.
The officers track down the suspect ‘s car to a nearby parking lot, when they arrive, they find no signs that Savage has been in the car rescently.
So, have it towed in for evidence, it’s then that the officers receive a call.
It’s the victim, Marrivel Dunn , calling from a blocked number, she assures the officers that she is safe and instructs them to stop looking for her.
Something isn’t adding up ,Dunn had been violently pulled to the ground and thrown into a car by Savage.
The officers need to make sure that she’s okay in person before verifying anything, Dunn agrees to meet the officers at Lorrain’s home.
That’s when the officers make the call to Lorraine.
The officers are confident this Lorraine is lying about two things, not being at home and that she is the only one that lives there.
It doesn’t add up with the information the neighbors have given them.
While police suspect Heroux could be hiding Savage in her home along with the kidnapped woman ,they don’t understand is why.
Behind the scenes police are digging deeper into Savage’s criminal records.
What they learn makes them realize this is no common wife beater , nor is he even a simple wheeler dealer con man.
Knowing Lorrain is at her home, the police head around to knock on her door, Lorrain is not cooperating and is being incredibly vague with the officers.
the police now are very confident that Savage has been in the house with Dunn the whole time.
But without expressed consent from Lorraine to search her house, they’ll need to wait for a warrant.
While they are waiting ,something happens the police didn’t see coming, Merrival Dunn, the kidnapped woman they’ ve been tracking down this whole time,walks right out of Lorraine’s home.
Seemingly free to go,t his is a massive shock for the police.
But it’s also good sign,it’s proof their suspicions about Lorraune Heroux keeping Dunn in her home were correct .
All they need to do now is flush out Savage,but things aren’t that simple.
Dunn,who’s clearly been beaten and has a broken jaw, is claiming that she’s not been kidnapped, she isn’t aware that the police have clear footage of Savage tossing her to the ground and then shoving her into his car.
She heads back towards the house to talk to Lorraine ,there she keeps ip the lie that she wasn’t kidnapped and acts downright friendly with the woman.
The police take Dun to the station to make sure that she’s safe and to ask some follow- up questions, but she doesn’t tell the police the truth about the kidnapping either, Dunn is protecting the man who had beaten her to a pulp.
It doesn’t matter how much the officers pressed on,shw won’t admit that Savage hurt her or kidnapped her,luckely,
They don’t need her confession to get Savage put behind bars.
Meanwhile , back at Lorraine’s home , the officers on the scene have had enough with the woman’s lies,the police now make it very clear to Lorraine they knnow Savage is in her house.
If she doesn’t let them in, she’ll go to jail for harboring a criminal.
Now, that it’s been laid out for her,Lorrain has a … change of heart.
But now they learn that the suspect is armed and dangerous.
The police call in the SWAT team ,block off the road, and the situation turns into a full – on standoff.
As Savage refuses to come out ,the standoff drags on for hours.
SWAT officers try to use gas to flush him out peacefully.
They also try to send in robot, but Savage shoots it , as well as firing at the SWAT officers as they approach.
The standoff drags on and on, with Savage refusing to come out .
Police use battering ram to tear down a garage door , at one point, the suspect sends a picture of himself holding a gun to his head.
Finally , after 22 hours , Savage gives up and walks out peacefully at 10:31 a.m.
The man is definitely a character , evem in custody.
