Investigators on Sunday said the gunman who tried to storm a gala dinner attended by Donald Trump planned to assassinate the US president and multiple top officials.
The suspect, widely named as Cole Allen, 31, had written in a note shared with his family shortly before the attack that his targets would be “prioritized from highest-ranking to lowest.”

His face turned towards the ground, shirtless and handcuffed.

Shared by none other than the man police say was likely the target, the US President himself on his social media.

He’s been identifed as 31 year old Cole Thomas Allen.

Over the weekend, the FBI agents searched his home in Torrance ,California.

Investigators say he traveled by train from the Los Angeles area to Chicago,then on to Washington,arriving 2 days before the gala,according to authorities,he was armed throughout the entire journey.

We believe that the two firearms he had on him , he had purchased within the past couple of years,we believe that he was targeting administration officials in this attack.”

The suspect outlined his intentions in a manifesto sent to family members just minutes before the attack.

Social media searches suggest that Allen is a graduate of Caltech.

In 2017 , he appeared in a s tudent project demonstrating an emergency breaking system for wheelchairs.

In recent years ,he worked as a tutor, helping students prepare for exams, ad was even named teacher of the month by one program .
A former student described him as friendly.

Allen has undergone medical evaluation and is expected to appear in court Monday.
