How could a man who had previously been convicted of kidnapping and child pornography still manage to murder a young women ? why did the justice system ignore the clear warning signs?
Vilma Andersson is suspected of the murder of a young woman in Rönninge, but has previously served a prison sentence for he attempt kidnapping of a ten- year -old girl on Ekerö, as well as a serious child pornography offense .
In this report Riks examines how clear the warning signs were.
During the christmas holidays, a young woman disappeared i Rönninge , south of stockholm.
A few days later , a 26 year old man , Vilma Andersson, was arrested on suspicion of murder and aggravated burglary.
On monday,relatives participated in the search of the missing Woman .
In a wooded area ,they found a hammer and cable ties lying on the ground.
The findings were reported to the police and discreetly sent to the national forensic center NFC for analysis.
There, DNA traces were secured that, according to information led to Vilma Andersson.
After the DNA match,the police began a rescue operation. the investigation was then conducted on the basis that the woman could still be alive and was classified as a suspected kidnapping.
As part of the investigation , a secret search was carried out in the Atterfallshus that Andersson rented while he was at work,something that Expressen previously reported.
The police then followed Andersson in the hope that he would lead them to the missing woman , according to information reported by Expressen, after the end of the workday , he was seen leaving his home with a shovel in the car before driving to a forest area where he is said to have started digging.
That’s when the police interverned and arrested Andersson, according to reports , he confessed to some of the criminal charges during his arrest .
For TV4 news it has been reported that he then said” i have body parts in the freezer “.
He was later remanded in custody at Södertälje district court on suspicion of murder and aggravated asault.
Andersson denies murder but has according to court documents,admitted to a serious crime.
The court has decided that Andersson will undergo a forensic psychatric examination.
The investigation is ongoing but no verdict has been reached.
When we now examine the man’s background, a sequence of events emerges that raises quesstions about how clear warning signs have previously been handled.
Vilma Andersson has previously appeared in court documents under the name John Robin Säbb Hjert but has changed her name to Vilma in recent years.
The name change has led to some confusion because Vilma Andersson was the name of the young woman who was murdered in Uddevalla in 2019.
One of Sweden’s most high- profile murder cases.
In 2019, Vilma Andersson was convicted in Solna district court of attempted kidnapping and aggrevated child pornography.
The sentence was 2 years and four months.
Headlines refer to the crimr as attempted kidnapping,but the verdict describes a very concrete sequence of events, according to the district court ,the convicted person grabbed a ten-year -old from behind,forced her into the back seat of his car and got into the driver’s seat to drive away.
The girl managed to get out through an unlocked back door only when another car stopped behind her.
The district court ruled that there was a danger of the crime being completed and that it was only temporary circumstances that caused the abduction to be interrupted .
The investigation also show that the act was preceded by preparations.
One week before the kidnapping attempt , cable ties and duct tape were purchased.
A mask was purchased on the same day .
On the day of the crime ,the car was refueled several times and afterwards tinted windows taillights were were purchased .
During the search , a computer , mobile phone and USB sticks were seized .
The analysis showed that the convicted person possessed over 42, 000 child pornography images, of which just over 6,OOO were were gross ,as well as films with documented sexual abuse of children.
The district court ruled that the crime was serious, among other things because the material involved very young children and contained elements of coercion and violence.
The district court also took note of a proper psychatric report.
The statement concluded that Vilma Anderson /Robin Säbb Hjert suffered and still suffers from pedophilia but not from a serious mental disorder.
The psychological investigation states that he acted calculatingly and purposefully before,during and after the acts.
There is another piece of information in the judgement that is central ,under the heading “arrest”, the district court writes that there was a risk of recidivism,the assessment applied to the situation in 2019 before the verdict had become legally binding and was used as a reason for not releasing him while waiting for the sentence to begin being enforced.
After serving her sentence , Vilma Andersson was realeased and returned to Ekerö where the kidnapping attempt was carried out -despite the risk of recidivism.
There was unrest in the area , A father on Ekerö chose to warn other parents in a local facebook group.

The father was prosecuted and convicted of defamation .
The court considered that the warning was likely to expose the convicted person to contempt even though the information was true.
Now Vilma Andersson is again in custody, this time for murder.
