Combs was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution (involving two women).

He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.

His trial concluded in July 2025.

On October 3, 2025, a federal judge (Arun Subramanian) sentenced Combs to 50 months in prison. Reuters+1

That’s equivalent to 4 years and 2 months.

He also received a fine of $500,000.

There will also be a supervised release period after prison.

He has filed a notice of appeal.

Here’s a quick summary of what’s next for Sean “Diddy” Combs after his 4-year, 2-month prison sentence:

Prison Time & Possible Release

🕒 Sentenced on October 3, 2025.

With good behavior, federal inmates often serve about 85% of their sentence.

That means Combs could serve around 3½ years, putting his likely release sometime in mid-to-late 2029, depending on credit for time already served.

⚖️ His legal team filed an appeal immediately after sentencing.

They claim the judge “acted as a 13th juror,” arguing the court was biased and overstepped by referencing unproven misconduct.

The appeal will go before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York, appeals like this can take 12–24 months to resolve.

💰 He was fined $500,000 and must complete 3 years of supervised release after prison.during supervision, he’ll have to report to a probation officer and avoid any criminal conduct or alcohol-related violations.

No hearing date has been announced yet for the appeal.

The full appellate brief hasn’t been filed publicly

(or at least hasn’t been reported yet).

It’s unclear how long the appeals court will take to rule on whether to accept the appeal, to consider the issues, or to possibly grant a new trial or reduce the sentence.

It is also unclear if there will be “oral arguments” scheduled, or if the appeal may include requests for stay of the sentence, or whether that appeal might affect his custody status while it is pending.
