Here is the latest from our coverage of the deadly shooting of a former Sacramento County deputy during a police chase. The man was suspected of killing his 11-year-old son in Elk Grove before fleeing. This coverage is from Dec. 2 at 4 p.m.

of former Sacramento County Sacramento County Deputy is suspected of killing his 11 years old son in Elk Grove ,Then leading police on a chase down interstate five,crashing ,then being shot and killed by law enforcement.
Authorities say the man involved is 40 years old Marvn Morales,he was fired by the sheriff’s a few years ago it came after an investigation found he lied about a fentanyl overdose.
This has resulted in an hours Long Lane closure on I- 5.
The Morales home where this violence took place about 8 :00 that morning.
We see lot’s of christmas decorations right out fron the front yard.
Amazon package being dropped off at this home, and you would never know that a child was attacked and killed here that morning.
And that his father is the one accused of stabbing him to death.
A mother Elk Grove Police tell us they received a 911 call fr0m the children’s mother.
Concerned about the safety of her kids,police say the mother was at work and while looking at the cameras placed inside the home, told operators her son was being stabbed by his father.
And when officers arrived officers arrived , Marvin Morales was gone, they found empty gun case and the children home alone.
Neighbors also say they a close neighborhood, they started a group chat about the incident ,says they’ve all lived here about ten years, with the Morales family ,actually being one of the neighbors they met.
They hold 4th of July block parties here, they watch out for each other just telling that they’re schocked and they’re sad to learn about this situation and want to reach out to the mother and that six year old younger daughter, who may have witnessed the violence and the killing of her brother, she was unharmed and told that she is in a safe place now.
neighbors ,found out about the overdose just recently , a couple of months ago, and that they were shocked to learn about the overdose.which happened two years ago and then his firing , so it was something they had no idea about and just recently lerned and saying”you know, his behavior didn’t exhibit someon who was on those type of hard drugs”
so again, just another reason for them to be shocked and everyone trying to figure out if maybe drugs led up to this,Police was asked if they found drugs in the house ,but told they’ don’t ,they haven’t.
