Sky News has analysed thousands of emails sent and received by Jeffrey Epstein. The huge tranche of documents, released by US Democrats, detail communications between the paedophile financier and figures such as Donald Trump, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, and Britain’s former ambassador to the US, Lord Peter Mandelson.
So ,here they are , 20 , 000 documents from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate have been released for all to see,and Sky News have been through them.
They feature Donald trump,the former Prinde Andrew,Peter Mandelson, and of course , Epstein’s girlfriend and co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Along witg many other people , here’s a deep dive into Epstein’s world.
Let’s begin with Donald Trump , the emails relating to him span about a decade up until just before Epstein’s death in jail in 2019.
It’s important to stress that there are no emails from or to Donald Trump.
They’re all from Epstein to others.
They give a remarkable new insight, Epstein claiming a closeness with Trump,who remember is on record as saying he dissassociated himself with Epstein years earlier in the early 2000s.
Lets begin in 2o11.
5 years before Trump was elected president for the first time.
from Jeffrey Epstein to his girlfriend and co – conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell in April 2011.
It was written no long after he’d been released after being he’d been released from house arrest for having solicited prostitution from a minor and he was trying to rebuild his reputation.
Epstein says to Maxwell ” want you to realize that the dog that hasn’t barked is trump, Virginia spent hours at my house with him,he has never once been mentioned ,polidce chief . etc. i’m 75 % there.”
Now , Virginia is Virginia Giuffre one of Epstein’s vicitms, and the woman in that now infamous photo with AndrewMountbatten Windsor,we’ll come to him later because there are new emails between Andrew and Epstein.
Giuffre who tokk her own life , earlier this year ,never accused trum of any wrongdowing.but Epstein is alleging that Trump and she spent hours together at Epsteins house.
The White House has hit back.
Press secretary on this.” miss Giuffre maintained and god rest her soul that she maintained that there was nothing inappropriate she ever witnessed, that president Trump always extremely professional and friendly to her.”
Now ,as the years pass ,the tone of the emails evolves.
We get a glimpse into how the nature of the relationship from Epstein’s perspective appears to have changed,how epstein began to believe that he had a hold over Trump.
These were the years leading up to Trump’s election victory in 2016. December 2015, this is just under a year befor Trump won the 2016 election and he is gaining momentum as a candidate.
On the 12th of December 2015, Epstein sent this email to a reporter from New York times.
Subject line: Trump” have them ask my housemen about Donald almost walking into the door, leaving his nose print on the glass as young women were swimming in the pool …and he was so focused,he walked straight into the door.”
It’s not clear when Epstein was alleging that incident had happened, but the email suggests two things.
First a hint at the close association between Epstein and Trump historically at least and second that Epstein is seeking at this point to discredit Trump.
In the same email exchange with the reporter, Epstein says,”would you like photos of Donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen?”
As time passes toward the cusp of Trump winning the White House in 2016, we get a new perspective on what Epstein was thinking and writing about Trump while he was on the rise to the presidency.
There are swades of emails between Epstein and the writer Michael Wolf, they detail how Epstein was being advised how he could use his relationship with Trump to his own benefit.
From Michael Wolf to Epstein in December 2015..
Subject : heads up.Wolf writes about Trump ,” if he says he hadn’t been on the plane or to the house,then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency ,you can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you or if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt.”
And then Michael Wolf again to Epstein in October 2016, just before the presidential election.he suggests Epstein could finish Trump.
Subject line, now could be the time.
Wolf writes, there is an opportunity to come forward this week and talk about Trump in such a way that cold garner you great sympathy and help finish him, interested?”
Trump wins the election in November 2016.
Look at this, was Epstein in Trump Tower just days after?
On the 13th of November 2016, a women called Linda Stone asks:
” you still in paris?” half an hour later,he replies,” Trump tower”.
it’s not clear who ,if anyone ,he was meeting at Trump Tower, if he was actually there,there are public areas within the building.
Remember ,Trump says he cut ties with Epstein many years earlier.
Sky news asked the White House if Jeffrey Epstein was in Trump Tower on that date, in response ,White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said;
” These emails prove litterally nothing”
Epstein continues to write about and ridiculed Trump during his first time in office.take this from Epstein to Larry Summers in 2017.
Summers was Treasury Secretary under Bill Clinton, Epstein writes ;
” your world does not understand how dumb he really is, he will blame everyone around him for bad results.”
Remember ,we don’t know the full context of these emails.
Here’s another from March 2018 and in this case , the name of the person emailing Epstein has been redacted.
The anonymous person says” It will all blow over, they’re really just trying to take down Trump and doing whatever they can to do that.”
Epstein replies;
“Yes, thanks, it’s wild, because i am the one able to take him down.”
Now , this email has caught a lot of attention , it’s from January 2019 in the middle of Trump’s first term as president.
It’s about membership at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida.
Redacted worked at Mara Lago ,she was the one that accused Prince Andrew, Epstein wrote;
” Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever, of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop”
So what does all this mean? well the redacted name is Virginia Giuffre.
Sky News know that she worked at Mara Lago and she is the woman who accused Prince Andrew.
The meaning isn’t quite clear. Sky News don’t know precisely what Epstein is claiming when he says ” Trump knew about the girls.”
In response to the release of the documents, the White House said the fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for beeing a creep to his female employees,Giuffre.
Remember, too , that Trump is on record saying that he cut his relationship with Epstein because he thought he was poaching his female employees.
Now , let’s focus on the man formerly Known as Prince Andrew , in his infamous News Night interview in November 2019 .
Andrew claimed that after he and Epstein met in New York in 2010, he was never in contact with him.
but these emails between the pair are from the following year ,March 2011 , remember ,this is the time just after Epstein had been released from house arrest for having solicited prostitution from a minor.
Three months earlier , that now infamous photo of Epstein and Andrew was taken in New York’s central park.
Andrew’s involvement with Epstein was headlined globally, and Sky news now have an insight into Andrew’s state of mind at the time .
The email chain includes startling allegations, the Mail on Sunday had email asking for responses to their story which alleged sorded sexual encounters involving Andrew, Maxwell, the former Israeli Prime Minister Ehoud Barack and others.
Sky news asked mr Barack for a response to the mention of his name.
The emails get forwarded a few times , including Ghislaine Maxwell to Epstein and then from Epstein to an account labeled the Duke .
Andrew appears to reply,”what? i don’t know any of this ,hw are you responding?”
Epstein replies and it’s full of typos ,just got it two minutes ago, i asked lawyers to send a letter , not sure , it is so salacious and ridiculous, i’m not sure how to respond, the only person she didn’t have sex with was Elvis.”
The subject title of this email is Ghislaine Maxwell.
Then Andrew says , ” please make sure that every statement or legal letter states clearly that i am not involved and that i knew and know nothing about any of these allegations , i can’t take any more of this my end”
Later that same year,2011 ,emails show that Epstein was talking about Prince Andrew, he says Buckingham Palace would love it if Virginia Giuffre was proven to be a liar.
Epstein emails a publicist;
” Ithink a great opportunity has arisen ,he goes on ,the girl who accused Prince Andrew can easily be proven to be a liar, i think Buckingham palace would love it , you should task someone to investigate the girl that has caused the Queen’s son all this aggro, i promise you , she is a fraud, you and i would be able to go to Ascot for the rest of our lives.”
But in trying to discredit Virginia Giuffre, Epstein appears to confirm that the photo of her with Andrew is real , Andrew has previously claimed that the photo could have been doctorred.
“Yes,she was on my plane,and yes she had her picture taken with Andrew as many of my employees have , i have never misled you , this girl is a total lier”
Let’s skip forward now to January 2015, Epstein and Maxwell appearing in private brainstorming responses to each other to a legal and media storm.
They’re firefighting and the email exchanges are written in haste.
Maxwell to Epstein,10th of January 2015:
“i have to distance myself from you statement two and they need me to say that i was not aware of massage with Andrew in my house, this thing have to stay along with meeting( redacted) and rebutting these allegations, i need it ASAP.”
Finally , look at this , when president Trump was on a state visit to the UK in 2019, Steve Bannon is emailing Epstein,Bannon remember,is the former White House strategist fired by Trump earlier in his first term.
He and Epstein are commenting on Trump’s physical proximity to Andrew in video of state visit.
message :Prince Andrew and Trump today,” too funny , epstein wrote, Epstein wrote then recall Prince Andrew’s accuser came out of Mara Lago.
Bannon replied ” i can’t believe nobody is making you the connective tissue”
This is just days before Epstein’s final arrest.
Andrew Mountbatten windsor continues to face scrutiny over his friendship with Epstein ,but has alway vigorously denied all of the accusations against him in the relation to the deceased pedophile.
Now , Peter Mandelson, he is the man who lost his job as UK ambassador here in Washington because of his links with Epstein,revealed in a previous trunch of documents.
Sky news now know that he had contact with Epstein as late as 2016, according to these new emails,this is much later than known before now.
Previously released emails show they maintained contact until 2010.
Exchange between Epstein and Mandelson on the 6th of November 2016.
The email is started by Epstein ” 63 years old ,you made it , Mandelson replies”just, i’ve decided to extend my life by spending more of it in the US.”
Later in the chain, Donald in White house,”will he get there?” Mandelsson writes and then what appears to be a seperate thought “yes , without Andrew it would be not have gone nuclear.”
It’s not clear quite what Mandelson is referring to, Mandelson then goes on to reference his relationship with his own husband.
Epstein writes to Mandelson” i was right, in your staying with Ronaldo “
Ronaldo is Mandelson’s husband, Mandelson replies ” did you advise me to stay with R? such a handful ,but loyal and never embarrassing .”
And so it’s clear that privately Epstein and Mandelson are discussing Mandelson’s husband and this is an indication of just how close they were as recently as 2016.
Sky news , now, messaged Lord Mandelson asking for comment, he’s seen the message,but has not responded.
Mandlesson spoke to Sky news in may this year expressing regret.
“My knowledge of him is something , that i regret, i wish i’d never met him in the first place.”
So, there are thousands ,tens of thousands of documents in the release, there are also hundreds, if not thousands more name referenced.
A mind- boggling range of presidents,prime ministers,princes, high-powered financieres and powerful business people.
Of course , association does not make them guilty of anything.
These Emails were initially released by the Democrats here in United States on the House Committee.
The Committee then released all 20, 000 documents.
It is a political battle ongoing and the walls appear to be closing in Donald Trump’s White house…
Epstein called Trump ‘borderline insane’ in 2018, newly released documents show
from CNN.
In one of the thousands of documents released by the House Oversight Committee today, convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein called President Donald Trump “borderline insane” in a 2018 email exchange with former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.
“Trump – borderline insane,” Epstein wrote on December 22, 2018.
It’s unclear what prompted the exchange between Epstein and Summers.
Epstein associates sent him updates on Trump selling his jet, newly released documents show
Some of the emails among the thousands of documents released by the House Oversight Committee today show Jeffrey Epstein getting updates about Donald Trump selling a private plane.
In a message from April 2011, someone told Epstein, “I hear Trump has a contract on his B272” but “no money has changed hands” yet. The sender is redacted.
Someone told Epstein in a May 2011 email, “Trump’s B727 sold for 2.7M.” The sender is redacted, but Epstein and an accountant and lawyer were copied.
Epstein called Trump ‘f**king crazy’ in January 2017 email, new documents show
A week after Donald Trump was inaugurated to his first term as US president, he signed an executive order banning the entry of foreign nationals from Muslim majority countries for 90 days, widely referred to as the “Muslim ban.”
Jeffrey Epstein said in an email to a New York Times reporter on January 28, 2017: “IT helps as he is seen as keeping his word.”
He added later in the email: “That being said Donald is f**king crazy, I told you that.”
Epstein discussed Trump’s 2016 campaign with Soon-Yi Previn, new documents show
The emails show an interesting exchange between Jeffrey Epstein and Soon-Yi Previn, the wife of controversial filmmaker Woody Allen.
Epstein sent an article to Previn, titled, “Bill Clinton’s CIA chief joins Trump campaign.” The article, published by The Hill in September 2016, was about the former Clinton-appointed CIA director James Woolsey joining Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
“Woody said it doesn’t mean anything,” Previn wrote in response to Epstein.
It’s unclear why Epstein flagged the news to Previn and what if any interest she or her husband would have had in Woolsey’s involvement with Trump.
Epstein and Maxwell coordinated public response after 2015 lawsuit alleged sexual abuse
In January 2015, an anonymous woman – later revealed to be Virginia Roberts Giuffre – filed a lawsuit alleging that Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell groomed and sexually abused her between 1998 and 2002.
The lawsuit alleged they forced her to become a “sex slave” to powerful men – including a royal prince later revealed to be Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Mountbatten-Windsor, who has been stripped of his prince title, has denied the allegation and later settled a lawsuit Giuffre filed against him.
In several email exchanges on January 10, 2015, after the lawsuit was filed, Epstein and Maxwell coordinated their public response to the allegations.
“Initial response, too many unanswered question [sic] raised, relationship with jeffrey/…I am writing to writin [sic] to respond to alleagtinoin [sic] that have been made wchich [sic] are categorically untrue,” Epstein wrote Maxwell.
Maxwell responded by asking if her lawyer could speak with a lawyer, then wrote: “I have to distance myself from you in statement too. And they need me to say I was not aware of massage w/ andrew in my house. These things they have to stay along w/ meeting [REDACTED] and rebutting those allegations. I needs it asap.”
After Epstein assured Maxwell he was on the phone with his lawyer about getting her a lawyer, she replied, “I need it written out in full.”
“Call me,” Epstein replied.
Maxwell later settled a defamation lawsuit with Giuffre in June 2017 for an undisclosed sum.
In an interview with the Justice Department this summer, Maxwell said her relationship with Epstein was “almost nonexistent” between 2010 and 2019 outside of corresponding over legal matters.
Epstein emailed about Trump’s mental state with his personal attorney and a former Obama official
In a March 24, 2018, email chain with Kathryn Ruemmler, a former White House counsel under President Barack Obama, Epstein shared a Daily Beast article titled, “How Close Is Donald Trump to a Psychiatric Breakdown?”
The exchange shows Epstein forwarding the story early that morning to Ruemmler, with her replying: “Not confidence inspiring.”
Epstein then responded: “but – accurate.”
A year earlier in July 2017, Ruemmler wrote an email to Epstein saying, “Trump is truly stupid.”
“Duh,” Epstein replied several hours later.
It is not clear why Ruemmler and Epstein were corresponding at the time.
But the Wall Street Journal reported in 2023 that a spokesperson for Goldman Sachs, where Ruemmler was then employed, said she had a professional relationship with Epstein in connection with her role at law firm Latham & Watkins LLP.
Ruemmler did not immediately respond to a CNN request for comment.
In December 2018, Epstein emailed Ruemmler about Trump’s behavior, writing:
“you might want to tell your dem friends that treating trump like a mafia don, ignores the fact that he has great dangerous power. tightening the noose too slowly, risks a very bad situation. gambino was never the commander in chief. there was little gambino could do as the walls closed in. not so with this maniac.”
That same day, Epstein forwarded the same comment to Reid Weingarten, an attorney who worked for him.
Weingarten replied that Trump was “starting to behave very erratically.”
Epstein wrote back:
“borderline insane. and corroborated by some that are close.”
Epstein questioned whether Trump had ‘early dementia’
In early January 2018, as questions swirled about Trump’s behavior following the release of Michael Wolff’s book “Fire and Fury,” Epstein exchanged a series of emails with a reporter at The New York Times discussing the president’s mental state.
Epstein sent the reporter an excerpt of the book that ran in New York Magazine.
The reporter remarked that Trump was “looking/sounding increasingly unhinged,” Epstein replies, “no questions donalds statement is goofy. . early dementia?”
Epstein emailed then-Prince Andrew: ‘you ok?’
In March 2011, as the Epstein scandal was picked up by British tabloids focusing on then-Prince Andrew’s involvement, Epstein reached out to Andrew to ask how he was doing.
“you ok?” Epstein wrote to an email identified as “The Duke,” an apparent reference to Andrew, known at the time as the Duke of York. “these stories are complete ant (sic) utter fantasy.”
King Charles stripped Andrew of his prince title last month and forced him to move out of the royal residence. Andrew relinquished his title as Duke of York weeks beforehand.
Jeffrey Epstein in 2018: ‘I know how dirty Donald is’
In an August 2018 email to Kathryn Ruemmler, a former White House counsel under President Barack Obama, Epstein wrote that, “I know how dirty Donald is,” referring to potential scandals that might come out about Donald Trump.
Epstein sent the message on August 23, 2018, after Trump’s longtime fixer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to federal campaign finances crimes. As part of a cooperation deal with prosecutors, Cohen implicated Trump in a 2016 hush-money scheme involving payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair, which Trump denies.
“You see, I know how dirty Donald is,” Epstein wrote in the email. “My guess is that non-lawyers NY biz people have no idea what it means to have your fixer flip.”
The email conversation began when Ruemmler sent Epstein a New York Times column about the Cohen guilty plea and what it might mean for Trump.
Her email said, “The principled case for impeachment is clear. What’s missing is the courage,” quoting the column.
Trump was not impeached and he never faced any federal charges over the matter despite a lengthy investigation. However, the Manhattan district attorney later won an indictment of Trump on state charges in connection with the matter. Trump was convicted last year of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to cover up the payments.
Epstein corresponded with Steve Bannon about then-Prince Andrew and Trump
In early June 2019, President Trump made a state visit to the United Kingdom, where he was welcomed by the former Prince Andrew. A photo shows Andrew grinning as he shakes Trump’s hand.
In a June 2019 email exchange with Steve Bannon, Trump’s former White House chief strategist, Jeffrey Epstein wrote, “prince andrew and trump today.. Tooo [sic] funny.” And then he added, “recall prince andrews accuser came out of mara lago [sic].”
Bannon replied, “Can’t believe nobody is making u [sic] the connective tissue.”
It’s unclear what exactly Bannon meant by the message. Trump fired him from the White House in 2017, though Bannon remained influential in conservative politics as he does today.
Trump and Andrew socialized together in the 1990s and 2000s, per newspaper reports, alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, sometimes at Mar-A-Lago. King Charles stripped Andrew of his prince title in October.
CNN reached out to Bannon for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Epstein said he ‘gave’ his young girlfriend to Trump in the 1990s. Trump has denied wrongdoing
Many of the exchanges from the emails feature people implying Epstein had damaging information about Trump and suggesting that he go public with it.
Epstein generally didn’t engage with these suggestions. But at one point in late 2015, he told a New York Times reporter that he could produce “photos [sic] of donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen.”
Later in the same email string, Epstein also alluded to a woman he claimed both he and Trump had dated in the 1990s.
“my 20 year old girlfriend in 1993, , that after two years i gave to donald,” Epstein said, linking to a webpage featuring the woman.
A previously published lewd 2003 birthday album for Epstein’s 50th birthday alluded to a similar situation. It included a joke about Epstein having sold “a ‘fully depreciated’ woman to Donald Trump.”
Trump says the documents are a “hoax” and has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
